Biking tour to karlstejn castle

The reason why we don’t run advanced group tours is that, based on our experience after riding with thousands clients, riders have very different level of fitness and technical skills and this can lead to a loss of quality of the tour.

Logistic

Meeting point is our office in Vratislavova 508/3, Praha 2. The tour starts at 9.30 a.m.  The tour will end at our shop.

Tour highlights
Petřín park:

First part of the tour is in Petrin Park which offers a wonderful view of Prague Castle and Charles Bridge from above.

Hvezda and Ladronka park:

After Petrin we will reach  Hvezda castle, located in a  huge park close to another park for athletes called Ladronka. We visit both of them. Hvezda Castle, was built in the form of a six-pointed star.

Divoka Sarka natural park:

We will leave the star shaped castle of hvezda and we will enter the vast and wild nature reserve of Divoka Sarka, located between the centre of the capital and the main airport. In the reserve our path is lined by tall pine trees and follows the river of the same name.

Vlatava riverbanks:

Once we have enjoined the brewery we will mount our bikes again and we will enjoy a nice downhill along a little stream in a forest called “Silent Valley” which will bring us to the Vltava river bank.We will cross the river with a boat and we will start riding along the riverbanks in the direction Prague.

Stromovka park:

Stromovka whose name originates from the word “strom”, a tree in Czech, was once a hunting estate of the king. Today it is the biggest urban park in the capital.

Letna park:

From Stromovka we cycle to Letna Park where we can enjoy a beautiful view of the historical centre, from the spot where once stood Europe’s greatest statue of the Russian dictator Stalin.

About the brewery (optional):

The brewery was probably built around 1710 according to an engraving on one of the basement pillars. Unetice village was a perfect location for beer production: it is surrounded by forests that supply wood, a big pond that supplied water and hills under which the beer was stored and kept chilled. The brewery kept producing its “great” light and dark beer’s, until the 1951 when the factory closed… In May 2011, after 60 years of inactivity, a group of friends, with the support of the community, brought back to life the brewery and the first batch of beer was brewed. The following June they officially opened and started distributing beer.
Their claim is: „Our goal is to continue the historic tradition of Únětický brewery and popular local beer. We want to build a small but powerful regional brewery that will brew an honest and good beer.“
